Mark Hemstreet

Mark Hemstreet is currently the Executive Director of Destination Lancaster. He joined Destination Lancaster in 2022, and has successfully expanded the outreach and publicity to enhance the image of the Antelope Valley producing increased tourism revenues.
Prior, Mark was Chief Executive Officer for the Antelope Valley Chambers of Commerce for 8 years. During that time, Mark successfully merged the Palmdale Chamber with the Lancaster Chamber to form the Antelope Valley Chambers of Commerce. Prior to joining the Chamber of Commerce in 2015, Mark had enjoyed a long history in the hospitality industry, starting with his undergraduate degree in Hospitality/Restaurant Management from University of Las Vegas, Nevada.
Mark worked for various large Hotel companies including Hyatt, Hilton and Best Western before he formed a partnership and purchased the Antelope Valley Inn in 1990. When he sold the Hotel in 2000, Mark used his vast knowledge in lodging to enjoy a successful career as a commercial real estate hotel broker and consultant to hotels and restaurants, rebuilding management teams and returning businesses to profitability.
Growing up in a family who believed in helping their community, Mark has spent the past 35+ years volunteering in the Antelope Valley. Over this time span Mr. Hemstreet has been actively involved at the Board level with the Boy Scouts of America, YMCA, American Cancer Society, Lancaster Chamber, and United Way, and currently holds positions at the Board level in Antelope Valley EDGE, Lancaster West Rotary, Street Company, and The BLVD Association. Mr. Hemstreet also sits on the advisory boards for Antelope Valley College and California State University Bakersfield (Antelope Valley Campus.)
A solid believer and advocate of the Antelope Valley, with a vision to build a better community encouraging local businesses, youth leadership development, education and a healthy life style.
